Mining companies from across the Hunter will mount displays at the Singleton Showground. Many of the displays are planning giveaways and prizes.

Mining company representatives will be on hand at the displays to explain how their company operates and interacts with the community and answer any questions.

With more than 20 mining company, industry suppliers and community groups expected to set up displays on the day, there will be information and activity to suit everyone from children’s activities to education on rehabilitation.

Many of the displays will also feature the partnerships mining has with community groups ranging from indigenous artwork to wildlife displays.

Glencore’s display will include a display by Aussie Ark. The Barrington Tops-based Aussie Ark is arguably most famous for its work to save the Tasmanian devil – through Devil’s Ark – but is also now working to protect seven other native species supported by Glencore. Peabody Energy’s display will team up with Wildlife Aid.
